Clothing designer Natalie Hutcheson from Los Angeles, a.k.a. Etsy crafter HutchMe, has created a nice geeky line of belt buckles inspired by popular retro video games.

These buckles are solid brass toned metal buckles, inset with shiny metallic graphics. They are all hand assembled and set with a tough, clear industrial epoxy finish. They are very durable, and resist scratches and scuffs. The buckles measure 3 1/4″ accross, and 2 1/2″ tall. They will fit any snap belt, up to 1 3/4″ wide.

Alarm clocks are probably the most obnoxious of gadgets, even if it is one of the most important.  I typically just use my phone as an alarm clock, however, I’ve regretted that on several occasions.  Usually when my Mother decides because she’s awake everyone else should be too and decides to call me a good 2 hours before I actually need to wake up.  Which is why a smart person would probably turn off their cellphone and use an alarm clock to wake them up everyday.  Well this particular alarm clock has ways of making sure you get out of bed everyday.

It’s a testament to the movie Aliens that it can still produce successful spin-off merchandise years after it was released, and not bee seen as cheesy (Terminator DVD player take note). The Aliens Chess Set pits players against each other as either Aliens V. Predators or Aliens V. Ripley and crew in this artful chess game.

The Aliens V. Ripley chess set comes with a double themed board. The Alien themed side of the board is particularly intricately styled with the board being taken over by the Alien brood. Eileen Ripley’s side looks like the metal floor of the spaceship they are travelling in.

The Alien V. Predator chess board is themed after the predator temple with predator statues on each corner. Both chess boards look great and the attention to detail is amazing.  I am tossed between loving and hating these Airyusha Robotan Toilet Paper Holders and being totally spooked by them. I am not sure if I need that face looking at me when I am doing my private business but they are pretty neat. I wonder if they would act like a scarecrow and stop by labrador retriever from stealing the toliet paper off of the roll and running around the house with it.

A great deal of people take a drink to bed with them at night. Me, once I’m out, I’m out so there is really no need for a glass of water. Also admittedly, I’m paranoid when it comes to spiders and I always half expect to take a big gulp of water and find one caught in my throat. Yes, I’m aware I’m seriously cracked in the head.
