Xbox 360 Arcade Station T2

Tag:
XBox360 Arcade

Here is something every little boy needs in their home, or every other 30-40 something that is hooked on the XBox360. A full sized arcade version that should be released for home consumption over the next couple of months. One of the only knocks so far are those gaddly Xbox controllers sticking out like a sore thumb. I guess Quasimoto Interactive didn't want to put something nicer like a joystick on it. It's currently being tested and if I hear anything more I will be sure to let you know.

My question, how do you return it when you get the red circle of death after 10 hours of play? Time will tell.

60% Drop out rate for Wii fit Players

Tags: ,

WiiFitLooks like those games looking to trim the fact are no different than those that join a gym or buy a membership. Microsoft’s vice president of Xbox says around 60% of Wii fit players don’t return to the game. “What Nintendo have done with the Wii is truly fantastic - there is no question about it. But I think sometimes there is a thin line between gimmick and great gameplay,” said Gosen.

He continued: “We’ve seen some research that says 60 per cent of people who bought a Wii Fit play it once and don’t play it again. So we have to get the balance right, because what we are doing is bringing new consumers into the market for the first time in their lives sometimes - and we have to treat them with respect. And at the end of the day that comes back down to creativity. We have to ensure that the peripheral strategy that anyone employs makes sense and delivers a truly game changing experience.”

Those number are not far off of how many people join gyms and then stop using their membership soon after.

Microsoft Gets Colorful New Controller

Tags: ,

XBox 360 Red ControllerThe Xbox 360 controllers are pretty bland to date, despite functioning perfectly fine, they aren’t the nicest things to look at in your living room as black and white colors rarely capture the eye’s attention at first glance. Good thing Microsoft has decided to introduce a little bit of color into Xbox 360 owners’ lives thanks to a bright red and equally flashy green controller hitting the market on September 30. The former will come bundled with a play and charge kit, while the latter is a standalone device, retailing for $65 and $55, respectively.

Xbox 360 Price Drop

Tags: ,

Xbox 360 - Price DropThe Microsoft XBox 360 is set to drop its prices yet again to $299, that’s £150 to us poms. This Xbox 360 price drop is yet another snub to Sony’s Playstation 3 which is still hideously expensive and is losing a huge amount of market share to gamers.

It seems that the new Xbox 360 price drop could be a real danger to Sony’s dominance brought in by the Playstation 2, unfortunately it seems Sony have not learnt from previous success, and Microsoft has learnt from their failure.

In the original PS2 vs Xbox war Sony won by having a huge array of games available on a relatively cheap console. This time however Microsoft was prepared as it brought out a cheaper console, earlier and with more games. Sony on the other hand brought out the PlayStation 3 6 months later, it was expensive and there was a disappointing number of games,

Now however with the Latest XBox 360 Price Cut it seems Sony will be sent off licking its wounds, as the price of the Xbox 360 console drops well below the price of a mobile phone.

While the xBox 360 price cut has not yet been confirmed by Microsoft officially it seems many people who normally have the inside scoop are well are of the fact and have staked their reputations on it. All I can say is Wehey! Bring on the cheaper console!!

Nintendo Wii Outsells Xbox 360, PlayStation 3

Tags: ,

No big suprise here, the Wii kicked the competitions butt in recent sales figures. I love my new Wii (just picked it up a few weeks ago) and so far no problems. I am on my 3rd XBox360 thanks to the Ring of Death and the fact that they send you refurbished garbage to honour their warrenty.

Nintendo sold 721,000 Wii consoles in March, according to NPD. Microsoft sold 262,000 Xbox 360 units while Sony sold 257,000 PlayStation 3 systems.

Nintendo Wii sales were sparked by the recent launch of the hit game Super Smash Bros. Brawl — a Wii exclusive. NPD said the game sold 2.7 million copies in March, making it the month's top selling title by far.
