Microsoft Pledges Windows XP Support Through 2014
Looks like good news for WinXP users. Microsoft has pledged to keep supporting the soon to be retired software package through to 2014. That's a full 13 years after the operating system was initially released. Microsoft senior VP Bill Veghte has promised that they will provide security patches "and other critical updates" for Windows XP until April, 2014. That's great news because I couldn't even imagine being without my XP.
It also seems MS is supporting program that allows users to down grade their current version of Vista to XP. Apparently in their liscence agreeement if you purchase one version of their software you are allowed to use a previous version.
